We have an existing JIRA Software Project that manged capability development. With the software type JIRA project, We are able to drag and move issues to change priority ranking.
Recently, we setup a new JIRA project with Business project type. We couldn't figure out how to change ranking for each issues.
Is it possible to change issue ranking with business type JIRA project?
Thanks!
Hi @Cindy Chen
JIRA business projects do not have the Ranking field integrated to them (so you cannot rank the issues) as this is a JIRA software specific feature.
If you intend to use ranking then I suggest converting the project to a JIRA Software project.
You can achieve this by:
I hope this helps answer your question.

Hi @Cindy Chen,
If converting to a Software project isn't possible, another option that would give you some control (not 100%) over the way the issues are ranked would be to modify the filter to sort by the priority field. You wouldn't be able to "rank" items of the same priotity higher or lower, but you would be able to to see high priority items listed above normal & low priority items.
Just a thought.

You can rank issues by dragging them in the List and Board. Rank an issue | Jira Cloud | Atlassian Support
It seems that Jira Business project was upgraded and included the "Rank" field behind the scene.
Sadly that feature isn't quite accessible, we can only use the drap & drop functionality. There's no field to type in the rank value.
