Can I "runFromSQL" with the Jira CLI on OnDemand?

Tom Allison September 11, 2012

I have a number of jobs that I'm running where I simply pull out the issue key go from there. But there's so much more the CLI is pulling in that I don't need.

Then I saw the option to runFromSQL. But I'm not sure of that working with OnDemand?

Will it?

I need a server name or something, don't I?

I'm assuming that the tables are similar to what I would find on a locally installed instance? Or is there a different schema design for OnDemand?

This was be a great benefit because I can run the SQL much faster if I don't need all the comments, descriptions and worklog options that the CLI pulls in.

No, since you don't have access to the JIRA database with OnDemand. You will need to use other run actions like runFromIssueList and runFromCsv. Other options would be to do some scripting around other actions that produce lists.
