Can I migrate everything from JIRA 3.13 to JIRA 4.4.??

Wladimir September 16, 2013

I have two servers, one with JIra 3.13 and another with 4.4. I need to move the projects, configurations and issues (all the information from JIRA 3.13 to JIRA 4.4). Is possible to do this. How can I do this?. Exist some solutions for this case, for example upgrade from 3.13?

The easiest thing to do will be to upgrade the 3.13 environment to the same version of other env (4.4 in this case) and then use project restore to migrate individual projects from the current 3.13 to 4.4 environment.

Note that you will have to manually do som configurations in the target environment (current 4.4) before you can import the projects from source (current 3.13). See https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/JIRA/Restoring+a+Project+from+Backup for more.

Hi Wladimir

To migrate data between JIRA instances, both have to be in the same version. So in your case you have to first upgrade the JIRA 3.13 to JIRA 4.4 and then merge the data.

To export e import a project in JIRA you can check this documentation:

https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/JIRA044/Restoring+a+Project+from+Backup

And to proceed with the upgrade you can follow this documentation:

https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/JIRA044/Upgrading+JIRA

Hope it helps

Ricardo Carracedo.
