I have automated a rule, where I can clone an issue from one board to another in the same project. But cloning creates a completely new task. I was trying to have the same issue in two different boards, or a way to change the status of both the original and cloned task at the same time. Different members of the team has access to different boards. So If one task is updated in one board, I want to see it's reflection on another board.
Hi @Md_ Abrarul Huda - Welcome to the Atlassian Community! Sure, the same issue can show on multiple boards. The boards will show whatever is in the board filter regardless of how many boards for which it might meet that criteria.
This is assuming the project is a Company-managed project, or you have created a separate agile board for a Business project/Team-managed project.
Let me add a layer on top. A task exists on 'To do' of a board. When I move the task to done or In progress state, I have cloned the task onto another board as well only used by the developers. Once development is done, task status is updated. If task status is updated on that board can the status of the original task also be changed?

Okay, these are totally different things and totally different questions. Can one issue show on multiple boards? Yes - question done and answered.
Question 2 - you clone a task (the board is irrelevant). The the cloned task is moved to Done. Can the original task be changed automatically? Yes, assuming the issues were linked when the issue was cloned.

Hello @Md_ Abrarul Huda
I would recommend to clone the issue from one board to another and keep them both in sync, so that every time someone edits one of them, the other one is automatically updated.
You can try our app Elements Copy & Sync that allows you to clone and sync a full hierarchy of issues with all their content (summary, description, custom fields, comments, attachments, etc).
You can check our guide here.
The app is for free during 30 days (and it stays free under 10 users).
Kind regards,
Clara

Hi @Md_ Abrarul Huda ,
Boards are not containers for issues; they are a view of a selection of issues. There is no "move between boards" function. Instead, you simply configure your new board to select the same issues.
" If you want to see updates to a task reflected on another board", you need to update your board filter to include the issues you want to see on that board.
Let me know if you have any questions.
Regards,
Geethanjali

Hi @Md_ Abrarul Huda Welcome to Atlassian Community!
Yes, Single issue should be available on two board, depends on the filter query mapped with board. If two having same JQL filter query, then same set of issues will be visible in both the boards. When issue status changed, it reflects in both the board.
