Can I have additional resolutions just for one issue type?

I would like to have resolutions which are only available at a special issue types, not all.

Is this possible and if so, how? Resolutions seem to be for the complete JIRA instance. Is this correctß WHy's that?

Well there is a way (but not an easy one). If you have for this issuetype an own workflow you can use workflow properties.

jira.field.resolution.include

But you would need to change all other workflows in order to exclude that resolution (or better use include with all other resolution except that new one). See:
