Can I delete the stdout log for Jira? Grown to 70GB

You mean the catalina.log and/or atlassian-jira.log? I would  use 

cp /dev/null catalina.log

to clear the file and optionally set up a logrotate config file to do this automatically.

The question remains unanswered.  Can this file be deleted?
