I want to be able to change the components on the Project summary and issues pages. For example, on the Issues page I want to add filter/s to display issues users need to pay attention to depending on their role.
A bit like a Filter Results gadget on a dashboard, depending on the current user's group membership.
Alternatively can I add a tab to the Project panel that I could put a filter on?
The reason for this question is that we are introducing people to Jira in a fairly controlled way and I want to be able to standardise what people see while they are learning the product.
Both can be done but only with the help of plugins.
In the first case, you will need to write a gadget that displays information based on group memberships or roles and in the second case you will need a new project panel which does the same!
