Can I configure sub tasks to block their parents automatically?

I want be able to configure JIRA so that each time I open a new sub tasks it automatically links to its parent and blocks it. 

Can it be done?

What do you mean by block it? It is possible to configure workflow to block parent transitions when there are open subtasks. Is that waht you are looking for?

If by "parent transitions" you mean that I can not close the parent task  before I close all its sub-tasks then this is exactly what I want.

Where can I find how can I do that?
