Calculate Velocity From Non-Last Column

Roland Cuellar June 16, 2015

Hi,

I would like to configure JIRA to calculate velocity based upon a story getting to 'resolved' state instead of 'closed' state.   Another option might be to have velocity calculated not off of the last column but off a different column.

Our next-to-last column is "ready for deployment" and our last column is "deployed".  We are unable to deploy as often as we'd like and the holding time that stories spend in "ready to deploy" is effecting our velocity / ability to predict what we can get done in a sprint.  Can we have velocity calculated off of a column other than the last column?

Thanks!

In your board, Remove the "set resolution" for Deployed and add it in the "Read for Deployment" column. That will set the resolution for that status which will ultimately finish the ticket.
