We know this question was created some time ago, so we would like to give an update about the current process for changing an Atlassian Cloud URL.
Previously, it would be necessary to create a brand new site with the desired URL and migrate from one site to another. This method is still being used because it doesn't depend on Atlassian support and you could do this whenever you need it.
Now, it's possible to change the URL by creating a ticket with our support on support.atlassian.com/contact. This is due to the feature request below:
With that said, if you need to change the Cloud URL, please follow the steps of the following documentation:
We’ve recently released the first iteration of being able to rename your cloud site. To see if you qualify, start by contacting support. Our team will then review the eligibility criteria prior to triggering your rename. In preparation for a site rename, please do not attempt to reserve your preferred name by signing up for a new site. This creates extra complexity in the process and will prolong the time required before your site can successfully be renamed. Additionally, please note that the site rename process reserves the original cloud URL for historical reference and does not release it to be used again.
