Hi!
I am looking to create a new Jira setup to help a sales organization.
Basically, they are looking for two separate boards: One that primarily shows the issue type Leads (statuses Not Contacted to Won) from and one that primarily shows the issue type Activities (statuses: Todo to Done) activities. The problem lies in connecting the two issue types across the two boards, so that you can see list of activities on any Lead and lead name on any Activity. What would be the best way to achieve this?
I have been trying to create an automation that adds an issue link to a Lead when the name is picked by the user on a custom dropdown field on an Activity - but without luck. Would this be possible?
Welcome.
Can you show your automation config and how you want to link, is there a single lead for each customer?
Screenshots and configuration settings will help members of the community in seeing your way of thinking and tried solutions.
There should be a single Lead for each Activity, but every Lead should be able to have multiple linked Activities.
Below, when a value is added to the custom lead field (called Customer here) on an Activity, I want the destination issue (the Lead) to gain a linked issue (the given Activity), if the inputted value on the Activity field matches the Lead name (which is not an option to select):
I am probably not very close in configuring it right. Both projects are covered under Rule Details.
I am also unsure if this would be the best way to achieve the goal I mentioned in the OP. Would know a simpler way?
