Burndown start change

I found an issue with the burndown chart that seems to be more of a usability issue and less of a technical one.  The problem is that my developers are sometimes late entering their worklogs. When worklogs are entered retroactively to before the sprint start time, it drops the start of the burndown line.  The slope and position of the line is off the entire sprint.  How can I fix/change the starting position of the burndown line retroactively?

you have to love corner cases. looks like this was reported back in 2017, got very little interest expressed and ultimately closed.
