Bulk change of labels in JIRA - how to?

Hi guys,

we need to change/delete labels of more than 2000+ more issues. By Bulk change it is not possible to delete labels only change which means that the new label replace the old one.

So it is also not possible to put a label to another existing one. The new one always rewrite the old.

So my question is how to:

* delete labels by bulk issues

* add labels to existing by bulk issues

Thanks for your help in advance,

Rumi

JIRA Command Line Interface has addLabels, removeLabels, and updateIssue that can all be used to deal with labels. Use in combination with runFromIssueList for bulk updates based on a filter or JQL search.

It is not possible to do this via bulk edit for labels or any other multi-select fields. You might want to try at the database level if you can't live without it!

There is an open ticket for this. can I please ask that you vote on https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRA-24118? We need to show Atlassian that it needs to be addressed.

Hi,
We have released Bulk Operation Enhancer For Jira plug-in in marketplace.
https://marketplace.atlassian.com/plugins/com.kostebekteknoloji.plugins.jira.jira-bulk-operation-exhancer
You could do bulk operations like additive adding, replacing and removing labels.
You could also set Resolution field with Bulk Operations.
Documentation is here: http://www.confluence.kostebekteknoloji.com/display/PLUG/Bulk+Operation+Enhancer++for+JIRA

You can also contact with info@kostebekteknoloji.com for your new bulk operation suggestions

We're on server 7.9.2 and there is an option under bulk to 'Find and remove these' which then let's you enter the label(s) you want to remove - It only removes those ones.
