Is there a way via a bulk update to delete a sprint off of tickets?

I found an answer here: https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Agile-questions/How-can-you-remove-issues-from-a-sprint-in-bulk/qaq-p/420119

Baiscally just bulk edit your issues and blank out the Sprint field. It might already show it as blank when you go to bulk edit, but make sure you check the box next to the field.

You MUST be careful with this though, as it seems to not work for Sub-Tasks (they inherit from their parent issues). But once the parents are removed from a sprint this way, the sub-tasks are still in the sprint.

I also verified that it still works in JIRA Software 7.3
