"As a web app developer, I would like to embed meta tags (in HTML comments?) to set Issue Details such as Project, and comment".

It would be cool to be able to put in labels, etc. to allow the issue to be as filled-out as possible, including hiding the input for the field (e.g. hide project so testers won't browse around and just file based on whim).

You can create a template that pre-selects the project. Templates can also define which fields are shown and which are hidden to a Bonfire user (although Project & Issue Type are always shown).

If you use a template, you can also use javascript variables to pull data out of your app to populate text fields. More info here: https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/BONFIRE/Templates+and+Variables

I was hoping there would a way to select the project, or even the template, from some meta data in the html...just fantasizing. It would be cool, because then you can essentially make Bonfire youre built-in but reporting facility to a web app. This only works in situations where one controls the app and the browser (corporate) but that's my scenario.

Thanks! G.

We've had similar requests in the past for HTML meta data defining some default properties of the Bonfire browser extension. You can vote on the feature request at https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/BON-228 and watch it for updates.
