Big Template format #BT.task.originalEstimate to hours instead of days/hours

Edward Greathouse December 17, 2018

Currently whenever a template uses #BT.task.originalEstimate, the exported document will display in the field in the format of "# days # hours".

How do you change the format of the original estimate to be just # hours? I have tried changing the setting in Issues -> Issue Features -> Time tracking to show hours only. This fixed the display within JIRA screens, but not in BigTemplate.

Hi Edward!

Indeed, it works like that.

So, I asked our developer to check what's in BigTemplate's code and, unluckily, I don't have good news as the days format is hard-coded in the app's code.

That means, no matter what modifications to the format of Time Tracking in Jira you will make, you'll end up with the very same result.

Best,
Tomek

Hello @John Monts

I have checked this with our DEV team, but I am afraid that the initial answer delivered by Tomasz is still valid - currently, the time format is hard-coded in the BigTemplate logic, to show the Original Estimate in days, and it is not really possible to change it.

Sorry, for not having better news.

I hope this helps.

Best regards,

Adam
