We have one general project (System) and one component inside of it (Helpdesk).
We want to send e-mails to email@example.com and assign it to the Lead of the Component, not to the general project.
Is it possible?
I think it is not easy, but it would be awesome having to email addresses and assign issues to the general project or the component depends on where it is received.
This isn't possible with JIRA out-of-the-box, but it may be possible with the JIRA Enterprise Mail Handler plugin -
It doesn't say explicitly if you can assign to a component lead, but I wouldn't be surprised if it did. If you go this route, let us know here if the plugin works for your case.
