Backup

Nathalie Blom Rasmussen June 1, 2016

I have few questions (for JIRA Cloud):

  1. If you have system failure (either software or hardware) then how much time it will take to make available JIRA again?
  2. What will be data age in this case (in other words how often backup is taken)?
  3. Any actions users should take?
  4. Do I as a user have access to backups made by you or I should perform them myself (let's say I made a mistake and want to rollback to some moment)?

One remark concerning the question - it is about JIRA cloud.

Here're some articles that provide details around backing up JIRA. In short - when JIRA is inatalled by default there is a scheduled daily XML backup which stores the backup files in the JIRA_HOME directory, but that's a data only backup, meaning that attachments, avatars, etc.. and the installation config files will not be backed up.

So I would recommend reading carefully the articles below and setting up an automated backup procedure for your JIRA instance.

Hi Boris,

Thank you for your reply. But my questions were about JIRA Cloud. Sorry, I didn't specify it in question.
