Backup remote JIRA instance

ricardodnb April 11, 2016

How can a remote JIRA instance be backed up?

With this i want to say i need to fill up a local DB with the information from 2 or 3 JIRA instances.

In this case i only have access to the REST API of some of them. Can i download the backup XML ?

thanks.

Hi Ricardo,

The short answer is - you can't.

Also if you don't have admin permissions you'll not be able to even create a backup.

But if you have a REST API access with some user you should be able to log-in using the same user right ?

Ok thanks for the answer.

I'll use the rest api to fill up a database with only the data i need. That will serve my purposes. smile
