Automatically use a commit message body as comment for associated issue

Ray Nicholus January 14, 2015

I realize the a portion of a commit message will be used as a comment for the associated issue if the "#comment" directive is used in the message.  We have a convention where a commit message is divided into 3 parts: header, body, and footer.  The body contains the comment, and the footer contains a reference to the case number.  Is there anyway to ensure JIRA will automatically grab just the body of the commit message and insert that text as a comment in the associated issue (specified in the commit footer)?

Best I could find is: https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/BITBUCKET/Can+I+use+markup+in+commit+messages

If that doesn't suffice, you can create a feature request outlining what kind of enhancement you would like to see here:
