Automatically linking sub-task created via post-function

Collin Burns April 21, 2017

Hello,

I have a set of post-functions that create sub-tasks for a particular issue type. All of these sub-tasks are required for the source issue, however 3 of the sub-tasks need to be linked to a 4th subtask as blockers. The post-functions to make all of the sub-tasks work fine.

Currently our product manager goes in to these sub-tasks and manually links them.

I'm wondering if there is a way that in the post-function that creates the subtasks if I can add the issue link as well? I've tried the clone issue and link scripted post-function, however that won't tie the cloned sub-task to the source issue.

This is the structure we are looking to achieve through these post-functions:

Hi Collin,

You can use Create on Transition addon to create the subtasks and link the 3 subtasks as per your requirement.

Have a look at the addon at the marketplace.

There are many other things which you can do using this addon. Read the documentation here.

Feel free to ask questions and we would be happy to help.
