Automatically ending a sprint in JIRA?

Jolie Roy May 27, 2015

When a sprint is created and a date range is provided, can JIRA automatically end the sprint like some of the other Agile applications?  Right now, it's a manual process that sometimes gets forgotten until the morning after the sprint should end.

For example, I set up my next sprint to run from 5/27/2015 to 6/09/2015 (time doesn't matter, just as long as the sprint ends before midnight).  My previous sprint was set to run from 5/13/2015 to 5/26/2015 - before the date rolls over to 5/27, JIRA ends the sprint automatically.  This way, if the team is finishing up any work on the last day of the sprint, they know the sprint will carry over any unfinished stories/spikes.

Starting the next sprint would be manual.

Hi, Jolie.

I'm afraid that's not possible. At least not as an embedded function of JIRA. There's actually this improvement request for that.

You can vote for that and add yourself as a watcher.
