Auto reply to new issue emails

How can I set up an auto reply to reporters of new issues?

The built in JIRA workflow has post functions built in to notify reporters of newly created issues. you just have to make sure they are configures to receive these notifications within the notification scheme for the project - specifically, the issue created notification. Here is some quick documentation on notification schemes:



OnDemand has JIRA ToolKit plugin. Whether Auto Transitions can be configured, can be answered by Atlassian support.

If yes, you can create an auto transition listener which moves every created issue to the next status, and if the reporter is present in the notification scheme, they will get notified even if they have set 'Notify My Own Actions' to false.
