Attempted to install trial of GreenHopper from the dashboard on a trial download and received an error

Patrick Zeinert November 28, 2012

In the admin panel there is a link to Start a free trial of GreenHopper, JIRA's agile project management tool. I clicked it and after sitting on a status bar for a few seconds, the following error message was displayed:

***

GreenHopper - Agile project management for JIRA install failed. Status: 401. URL: http://localhost:8080/rest/plugins/1.0/?token=3371440388191664385.

Attempt to install plugin resulted in the error message above, but a later attempt suggested that there was a capability error. Elevating to administrator and attempting to re-install was successful.

Hey there, Patrick.

Can you try to install the GreenHopper plugin through the Atlassian Plugin Exchange?

Another alternative is to download the GreenHopper plugin from the Atlassian Marketplace and copy the downloaded .jar file into your JIRA Home Directory\plugins\installed-plugins folder. Make sure that you shutdown your JIRA instance first before doing that. After you have restarted your instance, make sure you re-index your JIRA instance.

Hope this helps!
