Attachments missing after JIRA Import and Re-index

John Theuerkauf May 11, 2016

A JIRA project was migrated from one JIRA hosted instance to another including attachments.  The steps were followed to import the project and everything seemed to work fine.  When opening the JIRA tickets attachments were being displayed properly and could be opened.

I then needed to turn on the balsamiq add on and once doing this was told to re-index.  After reindexing, attachments were no longer being found when attempting to open them from the tickets.  I re-indexed again and the issue was not fixed.

Anyone else have a similar issue?

Hi,

you need to copy and paste attachment before import to to another instance.

There is a special location if you use default paths:

JIRAdata folder/data/attachments

We are using hosted JIRA, is this step required for the hosted version?
