Attachment size set to 45MB but still getting bounce backs

Allen Mikailian January 28, 2020

We have set the attachment size limit to 45MB (server has the same settings) but we are still getting bounce backs from jira email address. Is there something we are missing to do? Please let us know as our users are unable to send attachments to a certain group at our firm.

Thank you,

Allen

In MOST situations, Jira will not respond to an email where the attachment is too large. The limit is most likely a limit on what the email provider will handle. Are you using the mail box provided by Jira? Or have you connected it to your own email provider like Google / Office365?

There could be a filter in the email system limiting the size. Have you had a user try sending the email with attachment directly to your company email?
