Atlassian about to drop support for sub task issue types

Hey there,

I just heard a rumor that Atlassian is about to drop / is thinking about dropping support for sub task issue types in JIRA.

That doesn't sounds too realistic / convincing to me, but somehow that rumor spread in my organization.

So far I haven't found any hint in the forums, api-docs, etc..

Can anybody "official" please comment on that rumor?

Any input would be highly appreciated since that would have quite some impact on my company.

I have not heard nor seen something like this. Best way to remove your doubt is to ask Atlassian theirselves  Support.atlassian.com

I'd think the only way to do that would be to merge issue links and sub tasks functionally.  Can't say that wouldn't be nice but would be interested in what that looks like first.
