Assigning a component lead with capital letters in email address receive error "User Xyz.Abc@mycompany.com does not exist"

I do not have this issue when trying add a User with email xyz.abc@mycompany.com.

I have tried this with multiple usernames and the only difference between is the capitalized letter in their email address.

Turns out this is a BUG with an annoying work around, if you are having this issue, I suggest you watch and vote for its fix:  https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRA-60467

Workaround

  1. Create dummy component
  2. Delete original component
  3. Have JIRA migrate all issues to the dummy component
  4. Create the original component with the component lead
  5. Delete the dummy component
  6. Migrate all issues to the new (original) component

Can you use emails with capitals in other places?  e.g. Assignee?

If you can, then you've hit a bug in the edit component.  If you can't, then I'm a bit stuck because I'd want to read the logs, but can't do it on Cloud.

In both cases though, I'd raise this with Atlassian support - https://support.atlassian.com

I can use emails with capitals for Assignee without issue.  The person in the screenshot is a developer assigned most of the requirements associated with this component.   I just raised this with support.

Good smile

We can't see your support requests, so it would be nice if you can report back here what the problem (and hopefully, fix too!) is.
