Assigning Unique Issue Number

Hotovaga April 3, 2020

Hi,

Is assigning a unique ID to an issue is doable?

For example, we have a project which have multiple sprints for each production. Can I assign a unique ID to identify which issue belong to which sprint, for example S1B1, here S1 identifies the issue belonging to sprint1 and B1 identifies the issue belongs to build1 ( of sprint1) .

Is this doable?

Any tips?

Thanks in Advance. :)

No. Numbering can't be changed. the next number is assigned to any issue created in the project. You would need to create a custom field and fill it yourself. There may be a plugin that could create the custom field. I suggest only using supported plugins

Thanks a lot! I've been using JIRA for the last five years, ONLY for this project, which is a bit different asking from the client, I thought I could use some help for this unique demand.

Thanks again. :)
