Assignee Field Not Populating When Using "Outlook Integration for JIRA" plugin

adam lloyd August 13, 2015

Hi there.

Currently having an issue with the "Outlook Integration for JIRA" plugin when the Assignee field is not populating when creating a JIRA from email, even though the Assignee field appears to be populated in the plugin's embedded browser when creating the JIRA issue.

Currently using plugin with the following specs: Internet Explorer 11,Outlook 2010 and ver 1.6.0.0 of the Outlook Integration for JIRA plugin.

Screenshots of the procedure I'm using to create JIRA tickets from emails can be found here:

Plugin log is here (debug mode enabled):

Screenshots of plugin settings can be found here:

Any assistance you can provide would be appreciated.

Hi Adam,

could you solve the issue? We tested several scenarios, the field is populated and the assignee is set properly. As Holger already mentioned a postfunction could change the assignee.

Hi Adam,

if the embedded browser shows the assignee field to be correctly set then JIRA's Create Issue Workflow Postfunctions are probably modifying that value.

  • Please check your Workflow, namely the "Create" Workflow function for any postfunctions that tamper with fields.
  • For a double cross check, if possible, create a plain JIRA project with the standard JIRA classic workflow with no extra fields and try to verify the error with that newly created project.
