Hi, I have set App Link between 2 Jira instances with basic outgoing authentification from instance A to B. The user used to login has admin privileges in instance B.
Both instances have different users, only one is both admin in both.
With this setting I would expect that I could subscribe to a gadget from instance B and any user from A should see the same results as the user used to authenticate in B when setting the App Link between both.
Is this assumption correct?
I tried the above but gadgets show nothing. Only if I open instance B to annonymous I get to see something.
Thank you!
I'm surprised to hear this - my expectation was also that it would have behaved as you expected. But I gave it a try and got the same results as you.
I've done some digging and it turns out that gadgets have never supported Basic Auth - only OAuth or Trusted Apps.
Unfortunately, in this case it means your only option is OAuth, as the user bases are different in the two instances.
