Application Link between JIRA and STASH

When I try to configure an application link between a JIRA and STASH installation I get the error message "sun.security.provider.certpath.SunCertPathBuilderException: unable to find valid certification path to requested target".

I use a public key certificate and have added the certificate authority into the %JAVA_HOME%/jre/lib/security/cacerts file. The STASH and also the JIRA tool is installed onto the same server system. I have successfully tested the certificate configuration the command "java SSLPoke localhost 8444" also (for the HTTPS STASH port) and "java SSLPoke localhost 8443" (for the HTTPS JIRA port). I can access both system via url https://.....

How can I fix this?

I have noticed this link. But it didn’t work for me. As I described above I have added the certificate authority into the %JAVA_HOME%/jre/lib/security/cacerts.
