Any suggestions to make work workable with the new, forced upon us, interface?

This new Apr 2021 interface really gives me the bibbers.

Any suggestions for settings etc. that might improve it (e.g. get back the old feel)?

F.i. in the old days i was used to these wiki-style mark up/down tags like {code}{code} to mark any code sections. Now i have to go through Ctrl-Alt-M?

And what happened to the old plain text editor? Can i get that back?

So much is wrong with the "New view". Our productivity is faltering and we're being forced to look at new project management systems. If we have to lean a new interface we might as well switch now.
