Having a maintenance window tied to a Single timezone does not work for our company. We have developers in multiple time zone and last thing we want is someone calling the US telephone in the middle of our night to tell us that the Confluence/JIRA are down.
Can you guys update the system on Sunday at some fixed hour? (we deploy our software on the weekend and it work out better than during the business week)?
We're not Atlassian but rather a bunch of users like you (with some Atlassian's thrown in for good measure). You're better off putting in a support issue with that feedback.
that said - I haven't seen upgrades being done every night but rather as necessary (security, upgrades etc)
You can put in a request for them to use a different time zone.
