I'd like to use the issue security level set to only allow the reporter and watchers access to a ticket. The watchers are set up using a custom field. Ws should be able to use the '@' references to our general user base, anyone that has access to create a ticket in the project. Is there any ready way to do this?
Not really. The mention feature doesn't add somebody to the custom fields etc. In theory you could use ScriptRunner to parse out a comment and then add them to your custom field (but eek! that would would be seriously painful to get right). Then have the issue security scheme use the custom field.
I would just use the custom field in the issue security scheme and add them to the notification scheme for updated - that way they can be alerted to when they get added to an issue.
