After upgrade to JIRA 7.12.1 it sporadically times out on random machines

Kevin Taylor October 29, 2018

Hi Team

After upgrading our local version of JIRA to 7.12.1 we are experiencing a strange issue in Chrome where it will randomly stop loading on a machine and just time out (ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE). Clearing the cache fixes this issue.

It has happened to 4 machines in total so far, three times it has happened on 1 machine. Is this a known issue? I have seen users posting with similar issues but the only answer seems to be clearing the cache again?

It continues to work in other browsers when this occurs.

Cheers

Hi Kevin,

There's nothing that's been reported specifically for this. Which version did you upgrade from?  Could any of your server settings been knocked out during the upgrade?

From searching around, usually this is due to network settings or timeouts occurring - is this happening on any specific pages?

Are the users all accessing Jira from inside or outside of the network - or do they have any specific add-ons or anything different to other users?

You can take a look using the developer tools in Chrome but this would need to be something you could reproduce reliably.

Cheers,

Keri
