After import of JIRA data from other instance, can't login to Confluence.

jiraguy November 1, 2012

Hi,

I am migrating data from one JIRA instance to another. I am able to import the data into JIRA fine. But after I do, I am no longer able to login to Confluence. My instance of Confluence was using the JIRA repository for users. How can I login to Confluence?

Cheers,

Graham

Hi Graham,

What you will need to do is setup a local admin user in Confluence, so you can then login to Confluence and configure the connection to your JIRA instance once the new data has been imported and overwritten the previous configurations. You can do this by following the instructions on this page: https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/DOC/Restoring+Passwords+To+Recover+Admin+User+Rights

All the best,
John
