Affect Versions and Fix Versions fields - how do I type in field

I am using the demo copy of JIRA. When I am creating a new issue, I cannot type in either Affect Versions or Fix Versions fields. How do I configure it.

Make sure you have created some versions in the project.

Also, give 'Resolve Issue' permission.
