is it possible to add two fields “Release Note and Release Headline” field for Epic issue type in all jira projects. There are 300 Jira projects

is there any template to push those two fields into Epic issue type in all Jira projects?

Hi @anvesh reddy - Yes, with a caveat...

Navigate to:

https://YOURINSTANCE.atlassian.net/secure/admin/ViewCustomFields.jspa

Locate your two custom fields and on the menu to the right, you can set which screens you want them to appear on in one step.

However (the catch)... By default new projects have an issue type screen scheme that is shared by Epic, Story, and Task.  So, if you add to that screen, you'll be adding to the Story and Task screen as well on a good number (if not most) of your projects.

In this case, you may be forced to create a standard Epic screen/screen scheme and update all issue type screen schemes to leverage the newly created Epic screen scheme.

But there are 300 projects, how can find out which screens is for Epic?

You don't need to review the projects...  Only the issue type screen schemes.

There's no bulk update option for this, but hopefully, you're not in a situation where every project is a unicorn with an isolated issue type screen scheme.
