Activity Stream plugin uses wrong port number

Dmitry.Semionin September 5, 2012

I installed Jira version 5.1.3-windows-x64 on my local machine and told it to listen to port 10000 instead of the default value 8080. Migrated data from my OnDemand instance then.

After some tinkering, most of the stuff is working properly. But i'm experiencing trouble with the Activity Stream plugin. It does show the activities data in the proper places, but everything it's referring to, i.e. images, URLs etc, is using port 8080, like "localhost:8080" instead of "localhost:10000".

I have no idea whether i should've customized this plugin somehow to make it use the proper Jira port. If anybody knows where this plugin takes its settings from, i'd be very grateful for such info.

Thanks!

Have you correctly set the server base URL in Jira Adminstration ?

Now i feel stupid. The solution was both simple and logical. I have no idea why i didn't know about this setting. I guess i should've read all the documentation on installing & configuring Jira before asking...

Still, i think it would be more straightforward to alter the base URL according to the data you enter during the installation. Like, if you entered a custom port for Jira, then that port should be applied to the base URL setting automatically.

Sure. Agreed. If you feel strongly about this, submit a bug here: http://jira.atlasian.com/ -- also link back to the issue here when you're done :)

Hi Dmitry, I experienced this problem once and I just had to empty my browser's cache. Stéphane
