Activity Stream noise: how do we limit it?

Ashton Treadway January 22, 2013

I am getting increasing complaints about the noisiness of the Activity Stream on the Project Summary page. Many of our users like the Project Summary, but find the Activity Stream to be excessively verbose.

So, given that, is there any way to constrain how information is populated in the Activity Stream?

By the way, if anyone is listening at Atlassian: you should make the Activity Stream chunk data per issue, so that the Activity Stream shows "USER updated ISSUE", and each AS update can be clicked to expand out and show details.

Thanks in advance!

EDIT:

Sorry for being unclear, folks: I'm talking about the Activity Stream on the Project Summary page, not the Activity Stream gadget that can be customized.

The Activity Stream on the project summary appears to only have an option for "Refresh".

Hey ashton. Have tried to add global filters to the activity stream? You could define some infos to hide for jira and confluence

JIRA allows you to edit them to some degree out of the box. Have the default filters not done the trick for you?

We can customise the activity stream on our dashboard. Have a look at this URL for details.
