Accessing Jira Import for trac in Jira OnDemand

Christopher Miller January 11, 2012

I want to use https://plugins.atlassian.com/plugin/details/32645?versionId=773420 in JIRA On Demand, and I expected it to be available through the instructions here:

'Administration' > 'System' > 'Import & Export' > 'External System Import' > 'Trac'.

But as a Jira Administrator account, I don't see IMport & Export in the menu. How do I enable it ? Thank you.

Hi,

Due to incomplete support for External System Import in OnDemand (hosted) environemnt, this piece of functionality is hidden from normal JIRA admin. The hiding happens just in the admin UI, so you can easily bypass it by visiting:

https://<baseurl>/secure/admin/views/TracSetupPage!default.jspa?externalSystem=Trac

Expect various small UI quirks, but all in all it should work just fine.

Users created via such import project will have access only to JIRA. If you use other OnDemand apps (like Confluence) you would need to manually grant them access after the import is finish. The same goes for wiki spaces and code review projects (Crucible). The importer won't create them for you, but we do plan to add such capability soon.

Cheers,

Wojtek
