Access logging files

Tim Threlkeld September 27, 2012

I would like to access the atlassian-jira-soap-dump.log file on my on-demand instance. We are integrating JIRA with our Perforce SCM system and are having issues. There doesn't seem to be any obvious location in the admin UI to show log files.

This page (https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/AOD/Restricted+Functions+in+Atlassian+OnDemand#RestrictedFunctionsinAtlassianOnDemand-jira) indicates that 'Configuring logging and profiling information' is not allowed. Does this mean we can't even view logs?

Hi, you simply can't configure it. You can raise an issue @ http://support.atlassian.com/ and get someone to look at the logs for you. They can probably get what you need.

Yes, OnDemand is restricted as you have noticed. If you do need more freedom you'd need to go for a 3rd party hosted solution, otherwise OnDemand can be great.
