Hi, 

I am setting up Jira and am an admin and want to know is Sprint used?

Is it a necassary option ? will it be useul for our clients?

Sprints are a part of the SCRUM methodology of working in a project. If it is useful for you, depends on how you organize your work.

Generally, sprints define a period of time and a bunch of work that your project plan to do in that period.

Just google for SCRUM to get an idea of that method and if it will be useful for you.
