AD integration merge duplicate local users

Craig Brand February 6, 2014

We've been using Jira and confluence and have bunch of local users in Jira which sync to confluence using Crowd. I want to now manage/integrate with active directory. Can the local accounts, related data, spaces, permissions, etc be merged with the AD accounts?

Hi there, JIRA and Confluence associate all data with the username, so if the usernames in your LDAP server are exactly the same (including case sensitive) as the local users, all information will be automatically associated to the LDAP users.

The only thing that you may need to check is that your LDAP directory need to be on the top position at Administration > User Directories.

I hope it helps.

Cheers

Hi there,

Thanks for your reply and info.

When I added the user directory for AD the LDAP it pulls all users/groups with the exception of the duplicated local users. When I tested it authenticated the duplicate users.

The LDAP directory is not top of the tree, could this be the issue?

However, when I attempted to move this error appears:

You cannot move the directory without losing your system admin privileges.

Thanks.
