What is the best way you have found to keep up-to-date on tickets in Jira

Recently, I have had to watch a few different projects, answer questions and keep up-to-date in a responsive amount of time. I'm wondering what is the best way you have found that works.

How do you watch tickets that you might not know about? 

How do you get your notifications for your tickets?

Filter subscriptions are a wonderful thing. Write a filter that would cover all the items that you would care about, and the have the results of that filter sent to you on a periodic basis.


If you are into Addons, this one has some nice options around watching issues.
