Hello, @Sid

My company is not specific, they keep saying they just want to be compliant or on a version that has support.

I would hate to do a lot of work and upgrade to a version that will be out of date soon.

Hi @Kevin Scharnhorst ,

the latest version is JIRA 8.0.

https://confluence.atlassian.com/jirasoftware/jira-software-8-0-x-release-notes-957981626.html

here is the end of life dates for all the versions available

Jira Software

8.0 (EOL Date: Feb 11, 2021)

7.13 (EOL Date: Nov 28, 2020)

7.12 (EOL Date: Aug 27, 2020)
7.11 (EOL Date: Jul 11, 2020)
7.10 (EOL Date: May 29, 2020)
7.9 (EOL Date: Apr 9, 2020)
7.8 (EOL Date: Feb 20, 2020)
7.7 (EOL Date: Jan 11, 2020)
7.6 (EOL Date: Nov 14, 2019)
7.5 (EOL Date: Sep 6, 2019)
7.4 (EOL Date: Jun 29, 2019)

So I would recommend to have look on all the release notes and see if all the features or plugins work for you with the version selected. Have it tested in dev and then move to production upgrade

@Sid

Thank you for your information, I was able to ask more specific questions.

We are going to 8.0, does that mean we need a new install ? surely you cant just upgrade from 7.3.

Hi @Kevin Scharnhorst ,

Are you on datacenter or server? Version 8.0 have many changes, I would say upgrade to 7.13 (which is supported version) and then to 8.0. Try it in Dev/staging then do the production
