J G October 21, 2018

We are new to Jira Software, our projects usually are repeated and would like to know how to create a template and use it to create all our new projects in Jira ?

Hi J G,

It seems that this is not supported by JIRA natively but there is a current request. You can watch and vote for the request here:

https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRACLOUD-7020

As described there,

"

If you're looking for an immediate solution, there are a number of add-ons in the Atlassian Marketplace for JIRA Server:

Unfortunately I am not aware of any add-ons for JIRA Cloud to support this, but I will update this issue if one becomes available."

Hope it helps,

Carlos

Hi @J G,

since the thread is unanswered and the last comment mentioned 'not aware of any add-ons for JIRA Cloud to support this', I feel like you might be interested to know that we've built a add-on solution for custom projects templates for Jira cloud.

Without addon your best option is to use the 'Create with shared settings' button during project creation. But this requires you to have template projects in place, and does not allow to copy components, versions and project role assignement.
Greetings, Litew8 Team
