Would also like to know how to resolve this correctly.

We are running an out of the box Jira Service Desk instance that's leaking all our contacts, including our staff names/emails and all customer details. No miss configuration was made that we are aware of, as we where using the product with a default configuration out of the box.

We would still like customers to use the product (as they currently do when logged in, but anyone can sign up be simply emailing a ticket through) but not publicizing every contact the system has ever dealt with.

Any advice on how to correctly address this would be greatly appreciated.

I was able to resolve the public user UserPicker issue by going to Jira Settings -> System -> Global Permissions. Under the Browse User and Groups section make sure to delete the Anyone group. That should remove the public visibility of the UserPicker.

Shared filters and dashboards can be viewed by going to Jira Settings -> System -> Shared Filters / Shared Dashboards. Address any items with the Shared With permissions listed as Public

Hi Claudio,

We have come up with a fix for this using ScriptRunnner; https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Jira-articles/One-Misconfig-JIRA-to-Leak-Them-All-and-how-to-fix-it/ba-p/1149018.

Hope that helps.

Chirag
