Is there a way to add additional custom fields to the JIRA Project Settings Details View?

We create a "Project" for each of our development teams and have additional meta data that we would like to track by team of which then we can report on. Is there a way to add additional fields to the Project Settings "Detail" Screen

Hm,

I think not, BUT I could suggest a solution, which quite a couple of companies are using:

Create a project for managing projects. This project has an issue type "Project" with as many fields as you like. You can then create&link a real project to an issue of type "Project".

Search for "Meta project" or "Project Central" to get an idea.
